Menschen, die mit Kindern und Literatur zu tun haben, stellen ihr Lieblingskinderbuch vor

Heute wird es bei Und was liest du so? tollerweise mal wieder international: Der Buchtipp kommt von dem spanischen Illustrator Albert Asensio, der zahlreiche Kinder- und Jugendbücher illustrierte und dafür ebenso zahlreiche Preise einheimste – kein Wunder, denn seine Illustrationen sind wirklich wunderschön und werden noch in diesem Monat näher auf Juli liest gewürdigt werden (*wartet hibbelig auf die ersten Neuerscheinungen der Herbstprogramme*).

Hier könnt Ihr Euch die Kinderbücher ansehen, die Albert Asensio illustriert hat, vielleicht ist ja etwas für den einen oder die andere spanischsprechende*n Leser*in dabei – aber wie bereits gesagt, müssen alle anderen nicht traurig sein, ich sage nur: Herbstprogramm! 🙂

Und was liest du so, Albert Asensio?

„I specially remember a book that was kept in the attic in my grandmother’s house. It was a compilation of tales by Oscar Wilde. I remember reading it in the attic, by the window through which the sunlight came in; there I spent a lot of time.

There were two tales in that book that are my all-time favorites, and in fact I have always thought about how extraordinary it would be to turn them into illustrated stories. One of them is „The happy prince“, the other is „The selfish giant“. Those are two tales with a sad ending (as most of the tales by Wilde do), but they are also full of tenderness.

However there was also another tale for which I found its ending to be unfair: „The nightingale and the rose“. The bird committed to a useless sacrifice in order to fulfill the desires of a student in love with a whimsical princess. I decided to change the ending, so in the last page of the book I drew a happy bird flying over the head of its beloved student.“
